Introduction

1. Purpose. The guide walks through all the steps of preparing for, conducting, and fully validating a CAP sUAS Flight Evaluation (Form 5U).

2. Audience. sUAS Check Pilots and their Evaluees can both use this guide as a resource from start to finish.

3. Locate an sUAS Check Pilot. Evaluees must locate and work with an sUAS Check Pilot to complete a Form 5U. Work with your squadron’s commander and ask them to pull an eServices Report for “Check Pilot - sUAS” in your Wing.

Prepare

1. Knowledge Development. First-time Evaluees should build the background knowledge necessary to do well on a Flight Evaluation. Two primary resources are:
   1. CAP sUAS Flight Evaluation (Form 5U) Ground School
   2. Airframe Training & Resources
2. Review. All Evaluees should review the Suggested CAP sUAS Flight Evaluation (Form 5U) Aircrew Evaluation Criteria to check their knowledge and performance against evaluation benchmarks.
