Pre-flight Preparation
- Judge Environmental Obstacles. Scan the mission area for obstacles and set RTH altitude at least 50ft above the tallest one (if able) while also observing maximum regulatory altitude ceilings.
- Program RTH. Verify that RTH parameters are correctly updated for your flight’s needs in the control application for your sUAS.
Emergency Response
- Activate RTH
- Verbally announce “Approach to Land”
- Monitor approach airspace and landing zones for encroachment; divert as necessary
- Remain ready to take manual control if automated return is inaccurate
- Safely land the aircraft
